The technology that we will commercialise provides end-to-end verifiability without involving any Tallying Authorities. E2EV provides the following verifiability:

• Cast-as-intended - every voter can verify that their ballot is cast according to their intended choice.
• Recorded-as-cast - every voter can verify that their cast ballot is recorded correctly by the system.
• Tallied-as-recorded - everyone (including voters and third-party observers) can verify that all the recorded votes are tallied correctly.

However, and in contrast to other E2EV systems, SEEV does not require a Tallying Authority. Tallying Authorities are a set of supposedly trustworthy individuals who have the computing and cryptographic expertise to perform complex crypto key management and decryption operations. In reality, finding and managing such individuals has proved to be very difficult. SEEV removes the need for Tallying Authorities while maintaining E2E verifiability by using novel cryptographic techniques.
