Contested Elections

Our aims &  our markets

Our aim is to develop, by ~Dec '23, an MVP E2E voting system for simple, first-past-the-post elections.  Some example consumers who require to hold this type of election include:

  • public companies for shareholder voting (e.g. approving board resolutions),
  • universities (e.g. rector elections),
  • TV channels and agencies (e.g. awards / contests),
  • political parties (e.g. leadership contests),
  • NGO and trusts (e.g. council elections, referenda and surveys),
  • mutual societies (e.g. building and insurance societies, NHS Foundations), and
  • membership organisations (e.g. board elections).

Shareholder / AGM Voting

Our aims, our markets and ESG

Our aim is to develop, by ~Dec '23, an MVP Shareholder voting system. Boards are increasingly being held to account for their ESG performance. Box ticking and window dressing are not enough in today’s shareholder enlightened environment. Today, boards must demonstrate real results in terms of ESG.

One key aspect that is being pursued not only by boards but also by regulatory bodies is increased transparency through better shareholder engagement; specifically when it comes to voting on resolutions, attendance at AGMs etc. For example, in 2022, a major UK plc held their AGM fully digitally. Shareholder attendance increased by ~280% over pre-pandemic levels whilst at the same time saving around £200k in costs.

Voting at Polling Station

A E2E API for hardware voting system providers

In 2024, our development programme will change focus to develop an MVP for voting at Polling Stations.

Our software will come in two forms.  A fully functional product and an application programming interface (API) that will allow those partners to incorporate SEEV functionality into their solutions. This will allow existing suppliers to provide SEEV enabled solutions alongside or integrated into their more traditional offerings. Integrating old and new is the approach favoured by many industry experts, e.g. the USA’s Electoral Assistance Commission (EAC), as it would allow voters to gradually transition from a system (i.e. paper ballots and electronic equipment in a polling station).
